Hi, I’m Morgan!

My love for animals started a very young age where I would offer to walk and watch my neighbors dogs for free. My love for all animals, especially dogs, grew as years passed and I am so grateful to be able to say I am truly living my dream!

Once I was old enough to work, I began working at a local vet’s office as a volunteer and assistant. During my time there I became aquainted with a varitety of different breeds and personalities as well as different illnesses and emergency situations. The vet also offered boarding and daycare. It was such an valuable experience to see how their program was ran and little did I know, I would one day offer something similar to the community.

I eventually left the vet to attend Nursing school, when 2 years in, I was offered the opportunity to mentor under a local trainer while attending training classes for my own dog. I loved spending my days with dogs and knew from that moment this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

During my time as a trainer, I realized there wasn’t a whole lot of boarding options that promoted positive interactions, structure, and mental enrichment. Many of the places our training clients attended created more behavioral issues than what they walked in with. I bought a property just outside of Cascade and began the process of opening up House Of Paws.

I now do dog boarding and training full time. I absolutely love my job and the amazing owners and pups I get to spend my days with. I serve on several different rescue boards throughout Michigan including the Bissell Pet Foundation’s junior board and am a huge advocate for rescue and preservation breeding. I also a member of the Heart Of Michigan Bernese Mountain Dog Club and foster for their affiliate rescue.

I am fortunate that my job is also my hobby. I love doing Dock Diving, scent work, and confirmation with my 3 dogs Baron, Jan, and Brewer and am working towards my next dog training certification through Method K9. I am so excited to see where the future takes me and looking forward to all the amazing dog I’ll get to meet!
